History of building of our school.
The building was erected between 1912-1915 at Niemierzyńska Street (Nemitzerstrasse) on the territory of cemetery of church. From 1915 it was used as girls’ school ( Primary School no 38). The gym, which is situated near the street , was built in 1898 along with the building of the boys’ school next to it ( Primary School no 37).
Both building were built in modern style with neobaroque and secession elements.
Between 1946-1956 in present Junior High no 6 there were –Primary School no 12, Voivodship Community Military School, Sceondary School no 6 named after Hanka Sawicka, Primary School TPD no 6, Primary School no 36. The longest time, for 58 years ( between 1956 – 2004), there was Primary School no 19.
From 1st September 1999 it changed into Junior High no 6, which up to 2004 existed altogether with Primary School no 19 with its last classes. From 1st September 2004 it’s been self-dependent organization.
